Is Your Job Killing You

Job stress is not that serious; is it? Simply stated, yes, it is. Research has proven stress can have a negative impact on a person’s health, and job stress is not an exception. Most people spend the majority of their lives at work doing forty hours or more at an office. So what is it about work that makes it so stressful?

Everything from difficult bosses and poor management to moody co-workers can impact a person. A person being overworked and underpaid will be frustrated by the perceived lack of productivity and stressed by the lack of ability make ends meet at home.

Employees who reported a “hostile work environment” and experienced poor relationships with co-workers are at higher risk of having job stress kill them. Job stress increases the risk of developing heart disease, having a stroke, becoming obese, and experiencing digestive issues. So take care of yourself, even on the job.
