Saving Money

The basic concept of cooking in bulk as a moneysaver has a few reasons behind it. First of all, when you know you are going to be cooking a large batch of a particular recipe and freezing the extra portions, you can buy the ingredients in bulk without the worry they will spoil before they are used. This allows you to take advantage of discounts and deals on your ingredients, as buying a large quantity is almost always cheaper per serving than just buying a small amount.

Secondly, when you know you have tasty meals ready and waiting for you in your freezer, you are less likely to make impulse buys or purchase expensive fast food and ready meals. So, you are left with more cash in your wallet for the things that really matter, like saving for a holiday, going on outings with your family, or indulging in a hobby, like buying Saleen wheels from a Mustang salvage yard for your car.

Saving Time

Admittedly, when you are cooking a large batch of a recipe then you will spend more time in the kitchen than if you were making a single serving. After all, there is more chopping and stirring to do, and then you need to portion it out before you freeze it.

However, over the course of a week or two you will find you have freed up a huge amount of time. One session of bulk cooking takes far less time than daily cooking of dinners. There is also the quality of that saved time. Finding one evening a week to devote to bulk cooking means when you have had a long day at work or with the children you can just heat up a meal from the freezer and relax when you need to most.

Helping Your Health

A good diet is a central part of good health, and when you cook your own meals for you and your family, you know exactly what is going into each meal and how nutritious it is. Of course, if you are tired or have not had the chance to go grocery shopping it is all too easy to just pick up some unhealthy fast food or stop at a convenience store for some salty ready meals.

When your freezer is packed full of healthy homemade meals you get the convenience of a ready meal or fast food with all the nutrition of your home cooking.
