I’m NOT an Npower Agent- Really!

We have all experienced hikes in our energy bills over recent years. It’s expected to get even worse this winter after both British Gas and npower recently announced price increases. British Gas users will pay about 6% more, while npower customers will pay 8.8% more for their gas and 9.1% more for their electricity.

But there is hope for those looking to lower their gas and electricity charges thanks to revised Npower tariffs. With their tariffs you can cap or discount your gas and electric prices for a set period of time. Kidding aside I am not agent I just think it is worth checking them out. They are up for energy provider of the year yet again and are doing a lot of things right at the moment. Sometimes an honest recommendation goes a long way.

Get Locked In Until 2014

If you don’t want to keep paying increasing prices for your gas and electric bill you can get locked into a rate with npower. Prices with npower are fixed until March 31, 2014. Locking in secures what you will be paying. Most providers offer this option on both domestic and commercial tariffs and it really is worth checking out longer contracts.

Take a Look at All the Tariff Options

Npower offers a variety of tariff options, all of which can be found online or by calling their customer service line. With their price guarantee your gas and electric prices are discounted, capped or fixed for an agreed-upon amount of time. Not with npower? You may qualify for a discount by making the switch. Green tariffs are offered for the environmentally conscious. (Npower also offers paperless billing through the use of online accounts; you may qualify for an additional discount with online accounts too).

See If You’re Really Saving Money

One thing I really appreciated when I moved to npower was that they made the process really easy. You can compare tariffs and prices on npower’s website, making it easier to find savings and the latest discounts and tariffs. You can obtain a quote within minutes; npower will compare the prices for you in an effort to see if you could be saving more.

Remember Energy Saving Doesn’t Just Stop With Cost Comparison

The ever-increasing rise in energy prices should underscore how important it is to find other ways to save on your gas and electric bills – and there are many small steps you can take that will have a major impact on your bill. Turn the thermostat up or down, depending on the time of the year; and when not in use. Make sure all windows are closed and vents are working properly. Turn the water heater down by a few degrees. Make sure the fireplace damper is closed. Make good use of fans. If a room isn’t used very often, close the heating ducts where appropriate, or turn off the radiator. Have your boiler serviced regularly. Make sure your home or office is properly insulated – that includes wrapping exposed heating ducts in your attic or garage.

And, of course, check with npower from time to time to see if they are offering any specials or discounts. Collectively, these steps can save you hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds.
