First off, a little bit of polish can make all the difference. Whether you’re posting an image of your car online or showing it directly to a representative then you want it to look its best. You might not be able to buff out any larger dents but you can certainly make the colours more vibrant and the interior more pleasant.
Seeing your car in its best possible condition has the potential to up the quality of offers for your car for what is really only a small amount of effort.
Advertising Your Car
This differs greatly between sites that are looking to buy your car directly and sites that act as the middle man between you and the person looking to buy your car.
If it is a site to buy your car directly then you will simply have to provide specific details about your car such as the mileage, condition, service, MOT, etc. Be sure to be honest at this point about any damages to the car (as they will see these at pick-up) but also make sure that you indicate any additional extras such as fixed sat nav, electric seats or even just a sunroof.
If you are advertising the vehicle, then make sure that you have all of the above details and more. In particular an excellent photo of the car itself is important.
When they come to view the car they will inspect it thoroughly. At this point all you have to do is observe and make sure to review their findings after.
At the point of sale make sure that you are fully aware of how the process it going to work. Some car buying sites pay the money up-front while others will process the payment after.
Ensure that you have all of the pertinent details and documents to hand such as your insurance, license and MOT documentation.
