How To Make The Best Of Your Spare Time

Work of any kind can take up a lot of time and energy. It is important not to forget that, during most of the days there is plenty of time that you can spend doing what you like the most. The time spent off work should be the time you spend making yourself feel good. This gives you more energy and feeling of satisfaction and that leads to better physical and mental health. Spare time is good for you if you use it wisely, and here are some useful suggestions on how to do so:

Make every day special

You shouldn’t always spend your free time in the same way. These are valuable hours and it is just a matter of time before your body forces you to go to bed. Try to make every day count. This means that you should plan a different relaxing venture for each day of the week. For example, on Monday you watch a movie, on Tuesday you invite some friends over for dinner and drinks, on Wednesday you take a bubble bath, on Thursday you go out, and so on. Naturally, it is nice to have something to look forward to. But, you shouldn’t force just one thing that you like and do it all the time when you’re off work. Eventually, you will get bored of it and you will find yourself sitting in front of the TV, shuffling through channels, being unable to find a desirable program and falling asleep on the sofa with a half eaten sandwich in front of you.

Finish all obligations by Friday

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are days that are given to you to exploit in any way you please. You should even sacrifice some spare time during the previous days of the week to tie up all loose ends so that you can have a carefree weekend. During these two and a half days (considering the fact that you are working for half a day on Friday) you can exercise your body and brain besides doing your desired leisure activities, for which you will have plenty of time. Physical exercise is very important for a good bill of health. You should find time to go jogging or go to the gym. Doing these sorts of activities can be a bit of a bore but keep in mind that when your body is healthy and fit you just feel more confident in your own skin. On the other hand you should also find time to exercise your brain. The internet is full of mini-games that improve your brain efficiency. Try to do some of them or just have a friendly game of chess with someone you know. You can train your brain and after some time you will see that you are functioning better and making decisions faster.

A day is a short period of time, but if you organize yourself thoroughly you will figure out that there is plenty of time to do all sorts of things. There is nothing bad in doing what makes you feel good after a hard day’s work. Just try not to get lost in your own organization.
