Be Your Favourite Theatre or Music Star for Halloween

October is now upon us, and that means Halloween is drawing ever closer. If there was ever a time to dress up, it’s October 31st, whether it’s for kids who want to go ‘Trick or Treating’ or for adults who want to go to a party or nightclub and enjoy the fact that they’re dressed differently. Fancy dress costumes are a big part of what makes Halloween so great, although choosing the perfect one can be difficult, especially if you’re running out of time to hire or buy one. However, if you have a favourite theatre or music star you want to pay homage to, you could always dress like them. Here are some of the most popular:

Freddie Mercury – the late, great Queen singer has inspired a range of fancy dress costumes. Freddie was admired for his powerful, almost operatic voice, and for adults of a certain age, dressing like him would be a great idea if you’re going to a party at a friend’s house or even at a bar or nightclub on Halloween night.

Rocky Horror Picture Show – the iconic film and stage show captured the mood of Halloween perfectly, and as a result, it spawned a range of outlandish, fun costumes that would work perfectly for parties. Dressing like the show’s characters such as Frank N Furter is something many people have done over the years and no wonder – the idea of a man in drag has always screamed ‘entertainment’. However, some Rocky Horror costumes can be quite expensive, with one costume on sale, the Sexy Space Cadet, through eBay retails at an eye-watering £129.99.

Michael Jackson – like Freddy Mercury, the late singer is a popular choice when it comes to famous musicians that people want to dress up as for Halloween. One of the best things about dressing up like Jacko is that he had so many different looks throughout his career, meaning you’re spoilt for choice in terms of the number of costumes you can pick.

Phantom of the Opera – one of the most iconic theatre characters of all time, the Phantom is one of the best possible theatre characters that anyone could dress up like for Halloween. However, costumes do vary wildly in price and quality, so it’s best to look around to see if you can get the complete outfit. If you do, you’ll look every bit as scary and mysterious as the Phantom himself.
