Keep a Garbage Can in the Bathroom

Furnishing the bathroom is just as important as caring about the way the rest of the house looks. Every bathroom should always be stocked with clean towels, extra toilet paper, hand soap, rugs, and, most importantly, a garbage can.

There is nothing more embarrassing than clogging a toilet, particularly if you are at someone else’s house. Let me tell you a story:

Women inevitably have a week once a month that is difficult for them, and I think accommodations need to be made. Anyway, I was currently being visited by said week and had to use the restroom while I was at my friend’s house. Unfortunately, the friend I was visiting did not have a garbage can in the bathroom, and I did not exactly want to carry my feminine product out into the common area where everyone else was.

What was I to do but put it down the toilet? I figured that it might clog the toilet, but I thought I would just take care of it in the morning if it did since I was staying the night with my friend.

Unbeknownst to me, this little anecdote quickly turned into plumbing disaster. The toilet that I had used had a leak that caused it to continuously pour water into the toilet bowl. Normally, that is not a problem, but, when the toilet was clogged, the toilet flooded. Not only was the bathroom flooded, but the neighboring office room and the basement as well. Everything was soaked through.

Needless to say, I was mortified and could not possibly tell anyone what had actually happened until later. I was so embarrassed.

To make it worse, my friend’s mother was a writer, and it just so happens that she had left several of her manuscripts on the floor in the office next to the bathroom. They were all destroyed in the flood.

After everything was said and done, I offered to pay for the water damage and the plumber that would have to be called, but they refused it and insisted in banning me from their home instead.

So, take it from me, do not ever put feminine products in the toilet and be sure to keep a garbage can in the bathroom at all times.

Keeping a Clean House

Adding some additions to your home will really make it easier for you to keep the house clean. First of all, you need to find places for everything. When there is not a place for something, it can make your house feel cluttered.

If you cannot find a place for something, then you might want to think about going through all of the things you have and get rid of the stuff you do not need.

As far as organization goes, cabinets, closets, tubs, dividers, shelves, and hanging pockets will all help you save space and keep your home from getting uncomfortably messy.

If you are one of those people who enjoys to organize, you might consider labeling the tubs, cabinets, and other organizing tools so that the other people in your home can abide by your schemes of organization. When everyone helps to keep the house clean, it makes for short work.
