What To Expect When You’re Expecting

It can be hard to find good clothes that suit you, especially at certain times of your life – one of the most difficult times being during pregnancy. You may want to show off your ever-growing bump, but just don’t know where to go to get the clothes.

Online is becoming a very popular place to shop as you have the widest range of styles and sizes to choose from and don’t have to carry heavy bags around whilst trying to fight your way through the crowds. The latter scenario is often a bigger problem when you are expecting. You are already carrying a small child around, without the added pressure of bags and swollen feet and crowds.

There are a lot of women’s clothing ranges that have started to do maternity clothes and it’s not just the usual sack-shaped top that just falls over the bump. This is fitted, stylish, feel-good clothing.

Here are some tips on how to keep your fashion edge while pregnant without breaking the bank:
o    In your first trimester, you’re best off with your normal clothes. You may just need to invest in some Bella bands for when your waistline starts to expand.
o    Try to set yourself a Gok Wan wardrobe and have a smaller number of clothes that all fit but can be accessorised and put together differently to make lots of different outfits. As you move through your pregnancy, you can add items to your wardrobe for a change of style.
o    Make sure you are comfortable. Don’t go out in skyscrapers for a night out because you think they give your legs some lift. They are not comfortable at the best of times, let alone when you probably already have swollen feet and are carrying an extra couple of pounds.
o    Your next best friend will be a maternity bra. As you begin to grow, your old faithful underwired bras will become an item of clothing from yesteryear and a good supportive bra will help to minimise aches and pains in your back and shoulders.
o    If your passion is clothing, a lot of women’s designers have now started to expand their range of clothes and are now offering work suits, party frocks, a range of fitted jeans and a lot of other items.
o    Remember, accessories can bring life to any outfit and will never become too small.
Just remember to be yourself and dress how you have always loved to.
