What Does Your Kitchen Say About You?

You wouldn’t have your bedroom decorated in a way that you didn’t like, just because it was hard to fit all of your clothes into your wardrobe, would you? So why do it to the kitchen? Your kitchen gives a great insight into the way you live and your personality, so what does your kitchen say about you?

The kitchen is the heart of most homes, which means it’s the most important room of the house. You prepare food, cook and entertain in this room so it’s easy to see why it’s so important. It’s vital therefore to make sure that your kitchen represents you. As a room it has so many different functions and has to accommodate a lot more than any other, for example, appliances – they don’t just include you cooker, fridge and freezer, what about your washing machine, dryer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker etc.? There are then all of your utensils, pans, plates, cutlery, mugs and glasses. It’s hard to fit all of these things into a kitchen, but to then start considering whether or not it represents you is hard.

Let’s start with the worktops, are yours sparkling clean or a little cluttered and messy? The more things that adorn your worktops, the more complicated your life is. If your worktops are extremely clean and organised, then you are quite and ordered person with a simpler life.

Coffee makers can also say a lot about their owners. If your coffee machine is the most important thing in your kitchen then you live a busy life and use your kitchen as a fuelling station to get you through your day. If this is the case then it will be well displayed, easily accessible and probably be surrounded by sugar and mugs so that you can get your coffee as quickly as possible.

Everyone’s fridge and pantry clearly shows the lifestyle they lead along with who lives in a house. If there are children, a fridge is likely to be jam packed with fruit snacks and juice along with other child friendly foods such as yoghurts, ham and cheese. If you like a drink to relax with then your fridge will have a cold beer or bottle of wine chilled and ready for you to enjoy. The way your fridge and pantry are organised also gives a great insight into how organised your life is; if they’re full to the brim with no order your probably really busy juggling work, school and kids. If your pantry and fridge are looking a little bare then it’s likely that you’re single or don’t spend much time at home.
