Redesign Your Shed Into A Useable Space; Not A Cluttered Mess

Tired of your new wheels sitting in the driveway because there isn’t an inch of space in your home’s garage? Is your garage riddled with holiday decorations, gardening tools, bicycles, and ladders? Do you feel like your garage looks like a scene out of the hit television show Hoarders? Have no fear; there is hope for you and your garage. Solutions are as simple as purging, making donations, reorganizing and choosing custom designs for sheds may be the answer to your problem.

  • Purging & Donating – If you can’t walk through your garage then it’s time to step back and take a look at what items are filling your space. Many times people store things in their garage and it becomes an ongoing game of “out of sight, out of mind.” You really have to bite the bullet and dedicate a weekend to going through the space. Get your family involved in the project and go through each and every item in your garage. Get rid of items that are broken and donate items that you no longer use or children have overgrown. You will be amazed at how much space you actually have once you have gotten rid of things you forgot you were even holding onto.
  • Reorganize – Once you’ve gone through your stuff and gotten rid of things you no longer need, it’s time to create an uncluttered space. Consider installing racks and shelves along the perimeter of your garage. You will be able to fit a car or two in your garage if you keep your goods along the perimeter of the space. Create storage that goes vertically, rather than horizontally so that you can make the most of your space. Keep all like items together in one place so that things are easy to find. Make sure that you’re staying organized by revisiting the garage on a regular basis and taking the time to put things back where they belong.
  • Create Additional Space – If you weren’t able to part with much stuff and still want to be able to park your car in your garage, it’s time to turn to additional storage space. Look at custom designs for sheds and choose a size and layout that will work best for the items you want to store. Sheds are a great place to store items that are not used year round like lawnmowers, holiday decorations, and bicycles.
