Just like the blog said always keep your calm in any kind of situations. It pays to have knowledge for first aid. You should know what to do whenever there are this kind of scenarios. For any kind of bites always clean the wound with soap and water. Check ups are very important especially for this kind of case. Coordinate with the dog owner and check if his/her dog has anti-rabies shots. As dog owner myself I should be responsible having my dog rabies free. Never careless about a dog bite always be prepared whenever this things happen

A family member was recently bitten by our pet dog. The good thing though is that, two weeks ago, our pet dog received her anti rabies shot. So, we are relieved of the fear it could bring forth to our family. The only concern we have now is the wound itself. After washing the deep wound with antibacterial soap and running water for several minutes, she immediately applied garlic into the said wound. Garlic has antibiotic and antibacterial properties which help in the prevention of infection. This can be done especially if you do not have an antibacterial ointment available at home. It could sting you for a bit, although tolerable, just like when you put alcohol on a wound. But it is very effective.

As a dog lover and owner it is our responsibility to take care of our pets and one of the things we must do is to ensure that our dogs get anti-rabies shot and be behaved creatures. We must always make sure that our dogs are not aggresive as agressive dogs are frowned upon and can be threat to others. We also must have our dogs on a leash and we must not allow them to stray. In case our dogs accidentally bit someone, we must be willing to help and shoulder all expenses that must be paid and make sure that the person that was bitten will be ok and then be more careful in the future to avoid such accidents.

Dog bite injury is usually not fatal. Unless it comes from a dog that is not vaccinated for anti-rabies. Dog bites can lead to bleeding, swelling, infection and even rabies. One of the reasons why dog bites is that they do not receive enough training from their home owners. A lot of people think that a dog they know is less likely to bite. However study shows, that family pet or a dog that they already know mostly the one who bites more. A person who is bitten feels very agitated and needs to be calmed down for the wounds to be taken care properly. Make sure to clean your hands before touching the wound. If there is bleeding apply pressure to the area above the bite. Wash the wound using warm water and soap. Cover the wound with a clean dry dressing and bandage. If swelling is present apply ice to reduce it. Dog bites should be reported to proper authorities.

The dangerous thing about being bitten by a dog is its rabies, specially if the dog is a stray dog. Rabies is transmitted through saliva and is very fatal. Rabies shows little or no symptoms of infection, so a person bitten should always take precautionary measure of having a vaccine. Symptoms appear only after days of being infected just days before totally passing out. Symptoms may include: fever, Hallucinations, headache, excessive salivation, partial paralysis and fear of water. So be always on the guard, and make sure to have your dogs vaccinated. You can also improved your surroundings by keeping it clean, in that way you have helped yourself from keeping away the deadly rabies
